Buying Clubs
Are your clubs actually used or are they refurbished?
All of our clubs are pre-owned unless explicitly listed as New. We never refinish, repaint, or alter clubs cosmetically. What you see in the photos is exactly what you get. Some listings include new grips if they were replaced before sale, which we always note.
How does your condition grading system work?
We use a 5-tier grading system for clubs we sell: New (never hit), Excellent (near mint, barely noticeable marks), Very Good (light play wear), Good (normal use, visible wear), and Value (heavy wear, priced to move). Each grade is applied consistently by our team and every listing shows actual photos of that specific club. For trade-ins, we use a simplified 3-tier system (New, Good, Value). Do photos show the actual club I will receive?
Yes, always. Every photo in a listing is of the exact club you are purchasing. We do not use manufacturer stock images or generic photos. Each club is individual, and we photograph it before listing.
Can I see more photos or get more details on a specific club?
Absolutely. Text or email us at info@golfdepotus.com or (408) 800-9547 with the club you are interested in and we will send you additional photos of any angle you need.
What if the club I want sells before I check out?
Each club in our inventory is one-of-a-kind. Adding it to your cart reserves it temporarily, but until payment is complete another customer could purchase it. We recommend checking out promptly once you find something you want.
Shipping and Delivery
How long does shipping take?
Most orders ship within 1 to 2 business days from our San Diego warehouse. Delivery typically takes 2 to 5 business days depending on your location. You will receive a tracking number by email as soon as your order ships.
Do you ship free?
Yes. Free shipping is included on all orders. We ship via UPS or USPS depending on the order.
Can I pick up locally in San Diego?
Yes. If you are in the San Diego area, you can pick up your clubs directly from our warehouse. Contact us at info@golfdepotus.com to arrange a pickup time after placing your order.
Do you ship internationally?
Currently we ship within the United States only. If you are outside the US and interested in a club, contact us and we can discuss options on a case-by-case basis.
Returns and Issues
What is your return policy?
We accept returns only if the item received is significantly different from how it was described or if the wrong item was shipped. Returns must be initiated within 7 days of delivery. Clubs must be returned in the condition they were received. We do not accept returns for buyer's remorse or if a club simply does not suit your game. See our full Sales Policy for details.
My club arrived damaged. What do I do?
Please contact us immediately at info@golfdepotus.com with photos of the damage and the packaging. Shipping damage is rare but we take it seriously and will work quickly to make it right.
The condition looks worse in person than in the listing. What can I do?
We work hard to grade accurately and photograph thoroughly, but if you feel the condition was misrepresented, contact us within 7 days of receiving the club. We will review the listing photos against what you received and if there is a genuine discrepancy we will make it right.
Trade-Ins and Selling
How long are trade-in offers valid?
All trade-in offers are valid for 7 days from when they are issued. Golf equipment prices move with the market, so we can only guarantee pricing within that window. After 7 days you are welcome to request a new quote — prices are unlikely to change dramatically in a short period but we cannot honor expired offers.
How does the trade-in process work if I also bought a club from you?
Here is the process: first, you purchase the club from us at full price through the normal checkout. Then you ship us your trade-in club (or drop it off locally). After we inspect and confirm the condition, the agreed trade-in value is refunded directly to your original payment method, whether that was a credit card, PayPal, or other. This protects both parties and keeps things simple.
How long does the trade-in refund take?
Once your trade-in arrives and passes inspection, we issue the refund within 1 business day. Depending on your bank or payment provider, the funds typically appear within 2 to 5 business days after we process it.
What if the trade-in club is in worse condition than I described?
We will contact you with a revised offer before doing anything. You can accept the adjusted amount or decline it and have the club returned. If you decline the revised offer, you are responsible for both the original inbound shipping cost and the return shipping cost. Free shipping on trade-ins only applies when we accept the club at the originally quoted price.
Does shaft flex affect my trade-in offer?
Yes. Our price guide is built to maximize value for Regular, Stiff, and Extra Stiff flex shafts — these are the most in-demand on the resale market. Clubs with Ladies or Senior flex often receive lower offers than what our valuator estimates. We will confirm your final offer after reviewing your submission.
Do you offer more for clubs with aftermarket shafts?
Yes, often significantly more. Our instant valuator only shows prices for standard OEM shafts. If your club has an upgraded shaft (such as Fujikura, Mitsubishi, Project X, Aldila, etc.), please note it in your trade-in form. We price upgraded shafts individually and they can add meaningful value to your offer.
How does the price match guarantee work?
If you receive a higher offer from another verified golf retailer (2nd Swing, GlobalGolf, Callaway Pre-Owned, etc.) within 7 days of our quote, we will match it. The price match must be requested within the same 7-day window that your offer is valid. Include the retailer name, offer amount, and a screenshot or confirmation of their quote in your trade-in form.
How do I get paid for my trade-in?
For pure sell transactions (no purchase), we pay via Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal within 24 hours of inspection passing. For trade-in credit tied to a purchase, we issue a refund to your original payment method. Tell us your preference when you submit the form.
