Common Questions
Trade-In FAQ
How quickly do I get paid? +
Once your clubs arrive and pass inspection at our San Diego warehouse, payment is sent via Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal within 24 hours.
How long is my offer valid? +
All trade-in offers are valid for 7 days from when they are issued. After 7 days, you'll need to request a new quote. Golf equipment prices move with the market, so we can only guarantee pricing within that window.
How does the condition pricing work? +
Our valuator uses Golf Depot's 3-tier grading scale for trade-ins. New clubs (never hit) earn a 20% premium, Good is the standard rate at 100%, and Value-condition clubs (heavy wear but fully playable) are 75% of the base market price. We already pay above market rate at every tier. Clubs with upgraded shafts are priced separately and often come out significantly higher.
Does shaft flex affect my offer? +
Our price guide is built to maximize value for Regular, Stiff, and Extra Stiff flex shafts, which are the most in-demand on the resale market. Clubs with Ladies or Senior flex often receive lower offers than the valuator estimate. We'll confirm your final offer after reviewing your submission.
Do clubs with upgraded shafts get more? +
Yes, often significantly more. Our instant valuator only shows standard OEM shaft pricing. If your club has an aftermarket or upgraded shaft (for example, Fujikura, Mitsubishi, Project X, etc.), submit the trade-in form and let us know. We price upgraded shafts individually and they can add meaningful value to your offer.
Do I have to pay for shipping? +
Trades valued at $50 or more ship free. Under $50, we provide a label for $15 deducted from your offer, or use your own carrier. San Diego locals can also drop clubs off at our warehouse.
How does the price match guarantee work? +
If you receive a higher offer from another verified golf retailer within 7 days of our quote, we will match it. Any offer outside that 7-day window cannot be honored -- golf equipment prices move with the market and we can only guarantee our pricing for 7 days. That said, prices are unlikely to change meaningfully within a week. Include the retailer name, offer amount, and the date of their offer in the trade-in form.
Can I trade in multiple clubs at once? +
Absolutely. Use the valuator to add each club one at a time, then click Continue to Trade-In Form to submit them all together with a combined total.
What if my clubs are in worse condition than described? +
If your club arrives in significantly worse condition than described -- for example, you grade it Good but it shows up with rusting on the face, deep scratches, or a bent shaft -- we will contact you with a revised offer. You can accept the new amount or decline. If you decline, you are responsible for both the original inbound shipping cost and the cost to ship the club back to you. Free shipping only applies when we accept the trade-in at the originally quoted price.
